Janet Giesselman was named General Manager of the Dow Oil and Gas business for the Dow Chemical Company in June 2007. In this role she is accountable for leading the business strategy and launch for this new market facing business. Prior to this role she served as Vice President of Dow’s latex business based in Horgen, Switzerland.
Giesselman joined Dow in 2001 as Vice President of Disease Management and was later promoted to Vice President, Corporate Affairs for Dow AgroSciences in 2002. As V.P. of Corporate affairs she led Dow AgroSciences strategy and Global Government, Public and Regulatory Affairs.
Prior to Dow, Giesselman held various leadership positions in General Management, Sales, Marketing, Operations and Supply Chain for Rohm & Haas. In her role as European business director based in Paris, France, she led the agrochemicals business. In 1997, she served as regional business and strategic planning director for Asia-Pacific. In 1996-1997, Giesselman was chairman of the Board of RohMid, LLC.
Giesselman has served as Vice-Chair of the CropLife International Strategic Oversight Council and CropLife America Strategic Oversight Council. Giesselman has served on the Board of Directors for the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, the Executive Committee, the Compensation Committee and chaired the Human Resource Committee; Indianapolis Opera; Indiana University Research & Technology Corporation; and the Advisory Board of the Indiana University School of Medicine.
Giesselman has a Master of Science degree from the University of Florida, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Pennsylvania State University.
